What if there was of a way of identifying the emotional root cause of an issue or subconscious programming? What if you could clean it up and remove the negative limiting charge around it so that you can be inspired and motivated from a place of choice?

Architect Zaha Hadid, age 60 and first woman to receive the coveted Pritzker Prize in 2004, shows no sign of slowing down as she transforms our contemporary landscape.

New York Times best selling author Gregg Braden is internationally renowned as a pioneer in bridging science and spirituality.

Following a successful career as a Computer Geologist for Phillips Petroleum during the 1970s energy crisis, he became a Senior Computer Systems Designer for Martin Marietta Defense Systems during the last years of the Cold War.

In 1991 he was appointed the first Technical Operations Manager for Cisco Systems where he led the development of the global support team that assures the reliability of today’s Internet.

For more than 25 years, Gregg has searched high mountain villages, remote monasteries, and forgotten texts to uncover their timeless secrets.

To date, his work has led to such paradigm-shattering books as The Isaiah Effect, The God Code, The Divine Matrix, The Spontaneous Healing of Belief and his most recent book, Fractal Time: The Secret of 2012 and a new World Age.

Gregg’s work is now published in 17 languages and 27 countries and shows us beyond any reasonable doubt that the key to our future lies in the wisdom of our past.

This is a great example of ancient wisdom and the powerful internal technology we all innately possess for healing the “no medicine” way. (please click the link to hear Gregg Braden)

Take Push by Sapphire from which the movie Precious is inspired from for example; incest, family violence, neglect, poverty and the indomitable power of imagination.

What’s your story? If you had to be a book, what story would you choose? In Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451, the burning point of book paper is 451 degrees fahrenheit.

At the end of the film, the book people took on memorizing a book by heart, by the process of love became the book. In that moment of choice and freedom each person took a stand to preserve the evolution of thought and humanity.

It is time. The tide has turned, the shift happened. Now what will you choose to stop all that is contrary to sustaining life? The film is a deep conversation about the way we have become as human beings, the way in which we are civilized, the way in which we are able to create a continuous self.

The importance of the written word, the story in the book is the process by which we record and communicate. It allows for the power of memory to come into play. Your DNA remembers you healthy.

The message of the futuristic story is the real threat of ignorance and lack of education. Our ability to think and reason is what sets human apart from animals. How we speak brings things into existence.

Learning to recognize the signs before the body manifests disease is key in prevention. It starts with your moods, notice where irritability, persistent lethargy or tiredness consume your life force.

The protagonist Montag, after being a functionary of the state becomes Tales of Mystery and Imagination by Edgar Allen Poe. Again, we are much bigger than our circumstances and we have the power, the ability to imagine better to create a life we want for ourselves and others. Gives a whole other meaning to doing things by the book. What stories will you tell the children, our future thought leaders in human civilization? Yes, precious.

Much to my surprise the local mountains of Vancouver had a snowfall of nearly one meter when it looked like spring was well on its way during the Olympics.

So that just goes to say, one just doesn’t know what to expect. I was so thrilled to play in the snow on a beautiful day but more than that I got to share my winnings of the blog contest from back in the fall with dear friends.

The view of Vancouver from a mountaintop is legendary. And it is from that very perspective that I contemplated the blessing of being able to contribute to the population of the Downtown East Side.

It only took 10 years. When I was a student at the Vancouver Homeopathic Academy there was talk of a clinic offering alternative and complementary health care in the Main and Hastings area.

It’s already been 1 year since a group of homeopaths and myself have been volunteering the gentle medicine of homeopathy for the treatment of addiction.

The results have been astounding and humbling. Much as been accomplished and we are gaining respect along side more accepted modalities such as yoga, meditation and acupuncture for relaxation, decreasing the use of medication, insomnia, and anxiety, just to name a few common complaints.

Better late than never? There seems to be a palpable alignment of consciousness with personal power in action to positively affect the balence on the planet. Much like when the body, mind and spirit are in alignment, life is on purpose and it is just simply meant to be.

The view from the top is even more enchanting because it is my own backyard. And that, I can be proud of.

Tuesdays have become the days that I walk through the shadows of Vancouver. The best kept secrets are revealed to me on Tuesdays.

Tonight I crossed the water to the North Shore to hear Jordi Savall, a rare and precious appearance by one of the most gifted players of the viola da gamba in the 21st century.

The preview talk literally struck a chord with me as he answered questions about his 1697 handmade 7 string instrument. In the history of musical instruments, the viola da gamba is prized and most admired for resembling the human voice in all its modulations. Each string is the range of the human voice as it develops from infancy to old age. Jordi Savall further goes to say that the human ear responds to the music of sound before it understands the words that are spoken.

As I settle into the preview talk, fully captivated by the gentle voice of someone I have admired for more than half my life; I review my Tuesday, and all the others I have spent now in the Downtown East Side of Vancouver over the last year. I marvel at the gift of homeopathy and how it has ever so inconspicuously stirred the vital force towards more ease of being for so many who grew up in the cacophony of anger, chaos, frustration, violence, neglect, abuse, which ultimately led them to find refuge in substance misuse, so far from the harmony of music and the soothing peace it brings even in the most epic crescendos.

Yes, they live with their shadows, they are the keepers of all the secrets we choose to ignore or neglect to acknowledge for fear of creating more pain, and yet, so many times I saw the spark in their eyes, the light which is a true testament to the same spirit that animates the very core of all beings for much greater things. I take from their stories their strength and count my blessings. I am grateful to receive in my space the load of a suitcase carried much too long to lighten the effects of secrets which are the keys to humanity, to the oneness we all share on a vibrational level.

The voices that recount the stories of violence are incongruent with the imagery that comes to mind, strangely like a lullaby of finely tuned instruments, maybe there is regret, resignation, the lull is a distant echo of a past long too present signing the lives that are for most perhaps 1 hundreth of the human experience.

As with the song of the siren I am enchanted by the acceptance and constant craving to return home.

Behind the walls of the city, boxes are lined up top to bottom, side by side perched on the armoires. Only the bathrobes, the bicycle and the wheelchair betray the obsessive compulsive order. Hydrogenated oil snacks, pudding in a cup, oatmeal, peanut butter, Granola bars and fruit leather. The smell of naphthalene competes with the Pinesol and the floor wax, or is it another odorous substance?

At the table I sit across from a giant toothless grin that adds crevices to the landscape of a face that has clearly lived under the sun and in the elements. Bob here is smiling, because for the last week he was able to sleep and made it to the hearing. It’s a small victory on his journey to recovery but he was granted supervised visits twice a week to see his daughter.

He’s been working on this for three years. This time he’s grateful for meditation, yoga, and homeopathy for the support they’ve given him in getting clean from heroin.

“I had to do it for my daughter,” he says. “No methadone. That stuff is like liquid handcuffs.” I ask him if the nightmares have returned. “No.” I can smell the cigarette lingering in his aura, he smiles, we look calmly at each other, breathing. “What’s next for you today?” I ask. He sits up and proudly announces that he has an appointment at the Carnegie for some shifts to provide community peer support. He’s going to save his money so he can get on the sea bus twice a week to see his daughter. I don’t have to ask, he says he’s fine, he can walk past the familiar faces to the bus stop with his head up now and he’s not distracted. He keeps his mind focused on the freckles on his daughter’s face.

We agree to check in next week. It’s only been a month but so much has been accomplished.

When I step back out onto Hastings Street, the fresh air and sunshine caress my senses, the pungent smell of urine, the noise of the shopping carts and the uninhibited display of ecstasy cause me to pause and take it all in more deeply. This is what goes on in my city. Behind the walls, miracles happen.
